When I listen to pinoy online stations, there are only three stations I listen to — iFM 93.9 Manila, 96.3 WRock (which of course is now down) and Red Hot Mix FM 105.9 Davao. Their streaming capabilities have recently been down. In fact, the Red Hot Mix FM streaming link at eRadioPortal.com also had some problems.
And just this year, I noticed that Mix FM’s website is completely gone (www.imix.fm). I don’t know if their domain has expired or if they have given it up already. Whatever it is, I really regret having to lose Mix FM as part of my pinoy online streaming habit.
Mix FM Davao is one the finest radio stations in the Philippines run by seasoned radio broadcasters. In fact, it’s the best provincial radio station in the country in terms of programming and production. Sonny who is the station manager at DXMX FM 105.9 Mix FM was with Magic 89.9 before and I personally this guy that when it comes to the sound of his station , he wants only the best for it.
I put on efforts and find ways to listen to Mix FM Davao and I stumbled upon this website that provides links to pinoy online streaming stations. The URL is http://radiotime.com/region/c_100396/Philippines.aspx. Luckily there was a link to Mix FM Davao but to my dismay it was streaming the wrong station. The label indicated “Mix FM Davao” but it was actually streaming a station called Radio Mix.
I feel very sorry for what happened this time to Mix FM. Pinoy online radio streaming for me will never be the same without Mix. We just wish Sonny and the rest at Mix FM will get their station up and streaming again on Web 2.0.
