If you think about the newest generation of OPM icons, I can definitely say Christian Bautista is on top.
It was 10 years ago, that I first fell in love with Christian’s music, of course who can forget the song “The Way You Look At Me”. 10 years ago, I was a budding young DJ at a local radio station doing the morning show and a late evening show.
I couldn’t play more of the The Way You Look At Me on my morning slot since I was not allowed to play more ballads. So, I made up during my late night slot.
Being an eliminated finalist on a talent show at ABS-CBN, I could not even remember the name of the show, but I’m sure you remember that Erik Santos won it.
Christian may not have won the spot, but he landed a recording contract right away with Warner Music Philippines. And his career soared even higher than that of Erik.
