Christian Bautista, Is He Fit To Be Called An OPM Icon?

Christian Bautista

If you think about the newest generation of OPM icons, I can definitely say Christian Bautista is on top.

It was 10 years ago, that I first fell in love with Christian’s music, of course who can forget the song “The Way You Look At Me”.  10 years ago, I was a budding young DJ at a local radio station doing the morning show and a late evening show.

I couldn’t play more of the The Way You Look At Me on my morning slot since I was not allowed to play more ballads. So, I made up during my late night slot. Continue reading Christian Bautista, Is He Fit To Be Called An OPM Icon?

The Overtones Versus Overtone

The Overtones

Don’t get confused! Both of these bands are great, vocally.

But not only do they have very similar band names but they also have the same, well not really sound, but the same feel.

Both of these bands are basically acapella groups or those who rely on vocals rather with instruments.

Although they have already spawned their own commercial records and albums, they still stick to their roots. So we can’t really help but compare these two groups.

The Overtones Versus Overtone, who do you think is better? Continue reading The Overtones Versus Overtone

Karl Wolf

Karl Wolf has been around for quite some time now, but this artist has not been given his share of airplay  here in the Philippines at least for now.

His song “Ghetto Love” had just recently entered local radio station charts, when in fact it’s been around for some time.

Karl is a Lebanese-Canadian Pop/HipHop artist who started his career in 2001. He’s had three albums and an upcoming CD to be released next year.

Ghetto Love was released on May this year featuring rapper Kardinall Offishall. Wolf released another version of the single without the rap. The song sampled a Peter Cetera original titled “Glory Of Love”.

This is not the first time that Karl released a song sampled from an 80s ballad. In 2008, he released the single “Africa” with hooks from “Africa” by Toto.
