Updated: Papa Dan is no longer on the air at Barangay LS. Guess, with all the success, happiness is really all about pursuing the desires of your heart.

In this case, Papa Dan had to resign to focus more on building his relationship with his girlfriend and hopefully build a family.

Remember, Delamar resigned from RX 93.1 for family reasons.

The truth is radio is fulfilling but it is not rewarding, career-wise, the industry is really small, the potential of growth is slim. You have to entertain other areas of making a living.

Love and life advice programs on the radio are classic and yet remain to be an on air favorite among Pinoy listeners. Match making programs are also a hit. Barangay LS 97.1 takes on a different approach with their program Wanted Sweetheart.

DJ Papa Dan’s Wanted Sweetheart, which airs 9pm-12mn Mondays to Fridays, gives listeners an different take of matchmaking on air.  The program brings an entertaining and oftentimes hilarious perspective on Pinoy courtship.

Just as it hit the airwaves from a makeshift studio in Manila in 1955, the country’s first pop music station continues to go on-air from end to end covering OPM, pop, disco, rock, ballads and more plus all-but-slapstick humor, sought-after advice on matters of the heart, infotainment and other listening pleasures.

“Given the spike LS charted on the ratings board, we foresee a stronger station performance that will cater and extend to all people across age groups and eco-classes,” said Barangay LS Program Director Glenn Allona.

Enjoy ‘crazy fun’ programs as Barangay LS delivers ‘non-stop na tugtugan, non-stop pa sa tawanan’  24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Papa Jepoy, Papa Bodjie, and Mama Cy’s Potpot and Friends, Mondays to Fridays 5am-8am and Saturdays 5am-7am, brings fun and explosive on-air interaction with the listeners via phone calls and text messages along with all-hit music sweeps peppered in between.

Papa Dudut, Ate Liza and Chikotita’s Balita Sa Barangay, Mondays to Fridays 8am-11am and Saturdays 7am-9am, always has human interest stories and showbiz news.  Popular mellow and upbeat songs are staples in the line-up.

Papa Tolits, Mama Belle, and Papa Baldo’s Kuwentong Barangay, Monday to Fridays 11am-1pm, offers wit and humor, skits, spoofs and gags derived from jokes sent thru text messaging.

Meanwhile, Talk to Papa with Papa Kiko and Papa Obet, Mondays to Fridays 1pm-3pm and Saturdays 12nn-3pm, is the all-time go-to talk program of problem-stricken pals.  It plays an instant friend to anyone who needs a shoulder to cry on or somebody to have a light-hearted conversation with.

Three Play, Mondays to Saturdays 3pm-9pm, with Papa Tolits, Mama Belle and Papa Baldo, delivers consecutive airplay of genre’-specific songs ranging from Pinoy rock, rap, hiphop, R&B and K-pop.

Barangay Love Stories, Barangay Love Songs and The Big 10 during weekends and all the weekday fares can be heard over Mega Manila’s music and entertainment hub on FM, Barangay LS 97.1.

For the second run of its campaign, tween actor Jake Vargas appears on the station’s TV commercial as the personification of the fun and fresh sound of Barangay LS.  Along with Bea Binene, Kylie Padilla, Sarah Lahbati, Ken Chan and  Boobai , Jake’s endearing personality and mass appeal reinforce the station’s affinity with its current band of listeners as well as that of the entire market.

  40. papa dan I’m a former seminarian who fell in love with a girl. we’ve been together for 5 years and after all that she cheated on me. We’re still together when she got pregnant by a different guy whom she just met at her work. She told me that she loves me, accepted her and welcomed her and the baby into my life again but she lied to me and left me again. I wanna share my story on the air and also look for a new love for me to move on…

  41. papa dan am a former seminarian and left the seminary, never went back coz I fell in love with a girl. We’ve been together for 5 years pero she got pregnant by a different guy. Sabi nya ako ang mahal nya, and so I accepted her and the baby pero she left me again kasi sabi nya natatakot sya for me kasi yung guy ma-influence. I wanna share my story on the air and look for someone new!
