Sourcefabric has announced that it has released an updated version of the new open source radio automation software Airtime.
Airtime is the only free automation program that can be operated on Debian and Ubunta operating systems via Chrome, IE or Firefox browsers.
Among the new features it now comes with are live streaming re-casting, audio library enhancements, a new playout history logger and a real time radio showing editing feature.
“Airtime 2.1 is a big step forward for open source radio,” said Martin Konecny, Airtime’s lead developer. “Hundreds of independent radio stations worldwide can now broadcast interviews, concerts or entire shows live with the new live stream rebroadcast feature.”
Airtime can integrated with Virtual DJ and Mixxx.
Airtime has also recently received a Guardian Award for Digital Innovation in the category ‘best use of technology for social change’.
