DWRR MOR 101.9 is playing catch up with the rest of the FM stations in Metro Manila. They are finally streaming their audio via TuneIN.
Just this year, MOR 101.9 revamped their official website to make it compliant with the mobile first and mobile friendly guidelines of Google.
It still broadcasts a video feed on their website, but until recently, their audio streaming is only available via TFC.tv, either through a cable subscription or online.
In the recent years, the Lopez-owned company lets you listen to MOR stations using iWanTV in the Philippines, but that was the restriction, you can only listen to their station and regional sister stations using their own app.
ABS likes to create a wall garden of all its services, especially with their TV or video content.
But then they learned a hard lesson about opening up.
See, their rivals like Love Radio, Yes FM have their own websites and apps too, but they also let their listeners stream their stations via third party, directory-curator platforms like TuneIN.
ABS realized that listeners especially Filipinos abroad do not like the idea of having to pay a monthly fee just to listen to a free-to-air FM station that is supported by advertisements.
Love Radio, Wish FM and Yes The Best! are among the most listened to stations online. And MOR had to do something about it, and finally they gave in.
But not totally.
While it can be heard on TuneIn, it is only available via mobile and you cannot stream the station on desktop. It is also not clear if this option is available to listeners outside the Philippines.
