The launch of Magic 92.3 last Monday April 29, 2013 was a blast.

Listeners from here and abroad could only have nice words for the new brand. DYKB FM 92.3 Mhz used to be KillerBee, a brand shared with other Quest Broadcasting CHR sister stations around the country.

The rebrand was also made for Magic 106.3 (Bacolod), Magic 95.1 Silliman Radio (Dumaguete), Magic 102.3 Caraga’s Hit Radio (Butuan), Magic 95.5 (Zamboanga), Magic 89.3 (Cagayan de Oro), Magic 89.1 (Davao) and Magic 106.3 (General Santos). Grace Lee Confirms Not Leaving Magic 89.9

This week, it was reported that Grace Lee will exit Magic 89.9 as host of its morning show Good Times.

The Korean radio DJ aired his final episode today which went emotional.

During the news program Balitanghali on GMA News TV 11, Lee clarified that her resigning had nothing to do with the controversies thrown at her.

“Hindi ito isang overnight decision, pinag-isipan ko ito for the last 2 years”, says Lee.

Lee, who has been the object of media scrutiny, after divulging her dating involvements with the Philippine President, said she will not leave radio, and revealed she is still part of the Magic 89.9 family.

If you want to be on the radio, stop learning radio in school. This was the advice of Carlo Jose, Production Manager at the famous Magic 89.9, DWTM FM of Quest Broadcasting Inc. during last month’s Kidlat Awards 2011.

I remember when I just 16, a budding DJ wannabe, who would do anything just to be heard on the radio. I did not know what was in radio, that I got hooked to it, sure it was about getting the hippest music and getting it first, the popularity and the chicks, but I did not realize that until I got IN radio.

Before my radio days, I was just a listener. I did not enjoy all the perks until my first boardwork.

So I believe being on radio is written in your DNA, you don’t go to school to be an announcer. And I remember this was also the very same thing that the late and former mentor of mine, Mr. Alex Sy of Times Broadcasting Network.
