Radio Imaging with Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls and Britney Spears


Blackout from Britney Spears comes out on Tuesday, October 30, 2007. And The Backstreet Boys‘ new CD comes out also this Tuesday, October 30, 2007. Seems like Pop era of the 90s is making a comeback! Well, wait till you hear about the another major return of pop icons in the 90s.

The Spice Girls are back together on their reunion tour and they will be putting on shows at Nassau Coliseum, the Prudential Center and Continetal Airlines Arena. Boy bands, girl bands and well, Britney, what more can you ask? Here is the chance to use these comeback infos for your radio imaging. How is that?

There is no doubt that Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls and Britney Spears are the biggest stars of the previous decade, and they still do today. There are a lot of interesting stuffs you can throw out on air to relive once again the music of these three great artists. While still waiting for their latest single to come out, with the exception of course of Britney’s leaked out Gimme More, here are tips on how you can put the Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls and Britney Spears on the spotlight once again, through your radio imaging.

First, gather those old CD samples you have in your library that includes those intro liners of the artists. Intro liners typically go like this “Hey, we are the backstreet boys, and this is our new single from our Backstreet’s Back CD called Everybody”. Now, you get what I mean? Now if you have plently of these intro liners, produce a montage of the previous songs for BSB, Spice Girls and Britney. Then use these quick IDs to segue before their songs.

You can even grab sound bytes from the artists themselves through interviews. But where are you going to get the audio? Well, it just takes a resourceful mind to get handful. If you love, you can get to YouTube, search on Backstreet Boys interview, Spice Girl’s interview or Britney Spears interview. Use Audition to capture the audio while playing on YouTube, then edit out those useful pieces.

Old is definitely in, these days. You see movies that are remakes of earlier versions, songs that are revived, so why not reflect these old school is cool once again fad. By bringing back memories to your listeners, you’ll be able to get them hooked on your station all the time.
