5 months after the tragic fire that killed 17 people at a three-story garment store, Butuan City is struck again with another blaze, this time the building where a radio station is operating.

Love Radio Butuan City, which operates at the 2nd floor Montalban Building, A.D. Curato Street, 8600 Butuan City was reduced into ashes as social media reports say fire broke out at 8:12 AM, October 4, 2012.

Initial police reports say that arson is the cause of the accident. An obsessed listener, who was found out to be romantically attracted to one of the Love Radio Butuan’s DJs set the station’s studio on fire.

Earlier reports have it that the suspect, still unnamed, had attempted to burn down the station last April 2012, but failed.

Firemen declared fire out at 9:45 AM.
