Love Radio 90.7 is undoubtedly the number 1 FM station in Metro Manila. In fact, it’s become the synonymous name to “Number One” as heard on its new set of promos. Speaking of promos, the MBC-owned station is gearing up for its 36th Anniversary starting this month of Valentines.
Earlier in an article at the Manila Bulletin, Love Radio announced that they will be airing their new set of jingles. The station had earlier bought a jingle package from ReelWorld.
The celebrated morning radio show “Ang Tambalan” with Chris-Tsuper and Nicole-Hyala is now being syndicated to all Love Radio affiliates in the nation. The popular late night show “True Love Conversations” and “Wild Confessions” is now heard also on its provincial FM stations.
Missy-Hista, one of the DJs, is excited for this year’s slate of activities and surprises.
Since the network took off with a new brand, TV5’s rapid growth gave the television industry a new hope. Something that televiewers have hoped for years, a new network that would bring in more variety to the current spectrum of terrestrial TV channels.
But as new programs are introduced to the Happy Network, it seemed like televiewers are getting the same servings of shows. The network is airing nightly soap operas that compete with the already tele-serye saturated primetime blocks by rivals ABS-CBN and GMA.
Weekend programmings are also similar with the other two established networks, shows like Paparazzi, and PO5 are familiar formats.
Willing Willie would have been a breath of fresh air at prime time evenings, giving TV Patrol nd 24 Oras a run for their money, but the game show is no different from Wowowee.
The celebrity gossip oriented show Juicy, however, is doing well on its noontime slot. But with rumors coming from Willie Revillame that a noontime show is cooking up, will televiewers again be getting the same stuff?
TV viewers would love to see innovative, fresh, but still sensible programs on TV. We just wish TV5 will bring in more creative shows.
The internet radio scene in the country is not that bullish yet but judging from the growing list of stations, businesses and listeners are definitely considering streaming radio as part of modern Filipinos’ media consumption. Here are the 10 reasons.
1. Commercial-free music – listeners prefer tuning in to internet radio than to the traditional radio for the absence of commercials. Stations like Blazin100.com and AtlantisRadio.net don’t air many or no commercials.

Blazin100.com does not accept payment in order to feature an independent artist. Most traditional stations would require monetary means just so a band can have their song played on air. This does not only help save artists money, but it’s also a big help to the local music industry.

8. Innovation – the internet has so much to offer, it will not be long before every household in the country will be hooked. The internet has also gone more mobile than ever before. And every internet radio website will be there to improve as the internet revolution continues.
9. Listener-engaging playlist – because web stations are more listener-focused, their programming is more influenced on what listeners like to hear.
The integration of request boxes and even instant request airplays, give audiences more power on the playlist.
10. Talk-free programming – while online radio stations carry the same programming they have over the air, internet-based stations have lesser talks and fewer interruptions. Unless, it’s a talk format, internet stations have more songs covered in an hour, usually 12 to 13, than the 8 or 9 songs heard on FM radio.

Provincial RGMA news anchor inks another exclusive contract with GMA Network as one of the radio commentator on DYSS AM.
In an interview earlier on 24 Oras, Nalzaro expressed his gratitude towards the network for its support to its provincial stations and anchors.
A native of Dipolog City, Nalzaro has received notable recognitions including Outstanding Public Affairs Program Host, 13th Annual KBP Golden Dove Awards, Garbo Sa Sugbo Awardee, October 12, 2004, and SunStar Cebu’s “23 of Cebu’s Most Influential People”.

DJ Mo Twister, an announcer at Magic 89.9 DWTM Manila, is temporarily leaving from the primetime game show ‘Willing Willie’ as a segment host to attend to health reasons.
Mohan Gumatay, in real life, disclosed on TV5 Monday that his body needs to rest after showing sings of respiratory problems due to the rigorous hosting and announcing schedules he has.
“Kuya Wil kasi parang… Alam mo ‘pag nandito ko super, like, bigay talaga yung energy at yung voice at ‘pag umuuwi na ko sa gabi medyo nawawala na yung boses ko. Tapos may radio show pa ko na 6 AM at may gabi na radio show rin ako pagtapos ng ‘Willing Willie.’

Aside from his 6 am morning show on Magic 89.9, DJ Mo is co-hosting Juicy, a celebrity gossip noon time show, and a late night radio podcast show after Willing Willie. He does all of these shows on a daily basis.
WW host Willie Revillame has no qualms with the DJ leaving the show for the moment. Replacement is yet to be announced.
It is pretty normal for radio DJs to be having a lot of jobs, especially because radio’s income not enough. But even for a decently earning DJ Mo, who probably can be likened as the Ryan Seacrest of the Philippines, he, and everyone else still needs rest.
