103.5 K-lite returns to the airwaves of Manila this after the station went off air 7 years ago.

However, fans will be expecting a fresher format as opposed to the familiar LITE AC or alternative sound.

The new K Lite will offer a soft AC sound with a sprinkle of urban rotation.

According to Jacob Perez  the station aims to “bridge the gap between mass market stations and niche players”.

K Lite will again occupy the 103.7 dial point as well as the DWKX license in Pasig City.

The station originally launched in 1995.  The K-Lite name stuck until 2007 when it was relaunched as Heart 103.5, then later Max FM and recently Wow FM.

Right now the station is yet to launch its website but visit their Facebook for updates

The latest change comes about after the departure of Mr Fu, the jock that the Wow FM brand was built around.

K-lite is currently live but plans to launch fully on August 1 along with the strapline ‘The Hits and Lite Favourites’.

The on air team includes DJ Electric (EJ Alonso), Nikki Viola, Jacob Perez, Mondo Castro and Max Speed (aka Alexander Gotinga).  Station Manager and Programme Director is Alex Gotinga.

K-Lite is owned by Advanced Media Broadcast System along with sister radio brands Jam, Wave, Play and Magic.

Visit official website at MOR1019.com. The best thing about MOR 101.9 is how they integrate their video broadcast. So you not only hear them but also see them, hence their Kinig Nood catchphrase or listen and watch.

Unlike other stations though they do away with the popular free live streaming services like Ustream and instead they use B2B streaming or professional services such as BrightCove. This means that to see them live, you have to visit their website.

This is unlike the social media streamers like Twitter and Facebook live which has more capture.

Although some of their DJs do Facebook live.

Station has changed face once again for the 6th time since it started using the call letters in past years. After sporting the new monicker, it finally gave in to unifying its national FM network of all stations.

May this year, the calls dropped using the logo and aired only dials as its station ID, the same thing they did when they transitioned in 2009.

The decision of changing brand name is not clear as the new brand was a hit and gained significant ratings. It’s website is among the most visited online radio stations.

The radio division adaptation of its regional branding which has been used for years now, is clever and cost effective

Do you love music? Yes, Floyd Media does too!

When Soundic Radio in Sweden approached the team at Floyd Media to create their new CHR jingle package, the wish was to produce cuts that would fit their upfront/upbeat playlist. The current sound of 2013 consists of dubstep and high energy electronic dance music, and in this package Floyd Media fired up finest sonic weapons to achieve best possible sound quality and mastering.
The Soundic Radio slogan is ‘Vi Älskar Musik’ (We love music), and vocalists were able to nail the lyrics with a perfect Swedish accent.

This massive jingles package contains 82 cuts with multiple mixouts, accapellas, alternative versions and unique sonic logo. Then the sound branding was expanded further with Floyd Media’s trademark ‘Sing Shots’ and additional chart show cuts.

European radio imaging expert Studio IVO recently refreshed the jingle package for Dutch Radio 6’s popular programme Soul Classics, hosted by Corné Klijn.

The project was a great example of how Studio IVO is enabling media to cope with ever-decreasing radio and TV imaging budgets, by offering innovative remixes of existing jingles rather than starting completely from scratch. A remixed jingle sounds new and fresh – while retaining an element of familiarity.

iTunes Radio in the Philippines?

At WWDC, Apple has finally launched their newest service under the Music app called iTunes Radio. This means iTunes Radio is not a separate app, but a feature included in their iOS devices’ Music app.

Now people cannot help but benchmark it along with other similar related applications like Google Play, Pandora or Spotify. Like those, iTunes Radio has all the makings of a typical cloud-based music streaming service.

You choose from  a category like Alternative, Rock, Christian, Pop or Classic Rock. But you can also launch a station from an artist springboard. Say you choose Justin Timberlake Radio, then you’ll a stream of songs similar to the genre that a Justin Timberlake track belongs to. The launch of Magic 92.3 last Monday April 29, 2013 was a blast.

Listeners from here and abroad could only have nice words for the new brand. DYKB FM 92.3 Mhz used to be KillerBee, a brand shared with other Quest Broadcasting CHR sister stations around the country.

The rebrand was also made for Magic 106.3 (Bacolod), Magic 95.1 Silliman Radio (Dumaguete), Magic 102.3 Caraga’s Hit Radio (Butuan), Magic 95.5 (Zamboanga), Magic 89.3 (Cagayan de Oro), Magic 89.1 (Davao) and Magic 106.3 (General Santos).
