DJ Don is a former disc jockey at ABS-CBN Visayas and RMN. Now based in Bangkok, Thailand, the Don has launched CH19 FM serving Filipinos in Bangkok and the world.
Now working as a professional in Thailand, Dondon Valles Jr Pisenable launched the station back in 2012 to cater to the needs of the Filipinos in the country for OPM music and Pinoy content.
Aside from Original Pilipino Music, he also formatted the station to be more familiar to the radio tastes of Filipinos now working and living in Bangkok with programs like late night mellow songs.

DWLS FM DJ Papa Obet Signs Recording Contract with GMA Records Related Streaming
As radio personalities become more visible thanks to the rise of digital media and the new radio buzz word “visual radio”, they have also become a celebrity in their own right.
While this is nothing new as we had Chico and Delamar of RX 93.1 smashing the hit song “Let’s Talk About Love” more than 2 decades ago, radio DJs as recording artist is now more prevalent.
DJ Papa Obet of Barangay LS 97.1 DWLS of GMA Network just inked a recording deal with the company’s recording arm GMA Records.
As his launching single, Papa Obet will be releasing “Una Kong Pasko”, a holiday tune to go on the air starting November 11, 2017.
On his Instagram, the Barangay radio personality revealed he penned and arranged the music for the song. And yes, he also did the vocals.
Papa Obet handles the Talk To Papa radio show on DWLS FM. But his road to stardom started when he auditioned for Protege, a talent search on GMA Network last 2011.
During an interview, he said that he will still remain as a Barangay LS radio host.

Pinoy Rock Radio Online is owned by Paulo Tamayo Legaspi. The station plays independent unsigned bands from the Philippines as well as mainstream music.
Paulo shares that it is tough running a station but for him thisis a commitment to music and showing everyone that there is a healthy music scene.
He is inspired by stations like LA 105 and NU 107.
In addition, he said that there is still a gap that needs to be filled. There is a station called Jam 88.3, but he says not all indie bands are featured.
The playlist is wide that includes ska, ethnic, blues, classic rock, rockabilly, new wave, punk and metal.
Paulo is actually from the IT industry. He started converting his vinyl and cassette collection into digital format, as well as his CD collections.
Paulo reveals that he is paying 15000 pesos per month as operating expenses. He buys the music that he plays on the station.
This is his way of showing support for the bands.
Even if he is not earning a single peso, he is doing it for the love of OPM.
Their radio personalities however continue to upload videos and post live videos of their boardwork on Facebook.
But like many stations, they still primarily live stream using IBM Cloud, which is now the owner of UStream.
Other stations are still using shoutcast or icecast servers for audio only listening.
There is an upside to using YouTube though.
1.) The can monetize their stream
2.) The server is reliable
3.) Its reach is wide
The downsides though to YouTube streaming:
1.) Copyright takedowns, even if you are a licensed FM radio, the bots will automatically remove any uploaded videos
Such is what happened to a radio station in Cebu when they used YouTube to live stream, but their video was taken down by Warner Music.
This is the very reason why most Facebook Live sessions by DJs are only during adlibs or off the air work. They usually mute or turn the down the volume of their actual music they play live on the air, to prevent the bots from tagging their videos.
This is the very reason why competitor DWRR still uses BrightCove for their live stream. It is a very exclusive platform , so unless you subscribe to TFC abroad, you won’t be able to listen.
