YouTube star Sydney Leigh goes global as the her single Crazy Beautiful which launched on iTunes and YouTube recently, has now become a worldwide hit.

Launched last February 2014, Crazy Beautiful has been getting raves on YouTube with reactions ranging from wonderful, powerful to awesome.

One of Germany’s heritage radio brands, Charivari in Würzburg, has made a fresh start with an AC package from PURE Jingles.

Playing the best mix of classic & current hits, and delivering local news & events – that’s what Charivari in the German state of Bavaria is delivering to its 30-59 year-old target demographic every day. So they have to be appealing and memorable.” He’s often heard children sing along to the jingles of their hometown station. “That’s a great opportunity for every station. It positions us in the listener’s mind, and it is super important for how the audience perceives us.”

Pesch had a clear vision of how the new Charivari should sound. “I want to build a bridge between our loyal listeners and our new friends – sounding catchy and modern, without being too young and wild. RTE 2fm New Jingles 2014 from ReelWorld Europe

Ireland’s 2fm has already undergone some major programming changes this year and now they have a new on air sound courtesy of the team at ReelWorld Europe.

The jingle package is made up of branded musical themes and ID’s and swaps out sung vocals for a new sonic logo built around the station voice over. The contemporary instrumentation provides a platform for the personalities to shine.

Head of 2fm Dan Healy said : “We’ve made a lot of changes to update listener’s perceptions of 2fm and better engage our target audience. The on air branding is a crucial part of that process and the team at ReelWorld have delivered a contemporary sound that matches our audience aspirations.”

Recent changes at the station include Westlife singer Nicky Byrne taking over daytimes as well as a string of new specialist shows.

Lisa Dignam is the Creative Audio Production Co-ordinator at RTE: “The jingles are already getting a great reaction – it was what we needed to make the station sound stand out.”

As well as custom news and utility beds, the jingles are based on the musical themes of ReelWorld’s new 103.5 KTU package, which the company have just finished for the iconic New York radio station.

Anthony Gay, ReelWorld’s European MD, said: “Some people in the industry have talked about jingles being dead. Let me clarify that they’re alive and well. Like everything in life jingles have evolved in new directions and what we’ve created for 2fm is a great example of strong sonic branding.”

RTE 2fm reaches over 800,000 listeners in Ireland every week.

10 Criteria For A Strategical Program-Aircheck; How To Analyze On-Air Promotion Program elements

On Air Promotion and On Air Marketing should influence our station-images positively. OAP in a presentation or in elements should be well-balanced and target-oriented, wisely inserted, transferred in an entertaining way and harmonize with each other. Jingles should be used strategically and of course music, jingles and drops have to be mixed as professionally as possible.

So much for the theory. The reality sometimes looks different.

In my opinion, it is an interesting experiment to exclusively analyze a broadcast under the aspect On Air Promotion/ On Air Marketing. This is why I have developed my 10-points-list for an OAP Aircheck.

1. Did the presenter use the elements wisely in a strategic way? Strategically balanced during a 30-minutes-segment and did it make sense in the particular position? Are the most important messages of the 30-minutes-segment mirrored within one hour?

2. Are the single elements target-oriented? Or do elements exist with too much information (“Info-Overkill”) so that in the end the listener doesn´t understand anything at all.

3. Is the importance of the messages in accordance with the presence on air? Is the number one message frequency higher than number two and three?

4. Are the same messages repeated too many times (in a row)?

5. Did the host prepare the show strategically? Did he or she think about, where the USPs can be placed best in his or her presentation? How about the messages? Are they used wisely or are they being presented without making sense at all? Are they well-balanced?

TABradio is a Western Australia station entirely dedicated to horse racing, dog racing and sports. And that means: a lot of talk and a lot of live reports.

SOB created a custom package for TABradio with 9 themes that come in many different versions so they can be used as talkover beds, but also as regular jingles and shotgun jingles. Every jingle is also produced as an instrumental version.

“SOB is a pleasure to work with! If I didn’t know how busy these guys are I would’ve thought we were the only client: so much time and attention was devoted to the TABradio jingle package by SOB Audio Imaging. Ongoing communication and prompt responses definitely set the bar high in the industry.

As far as the package goes… Being a horse and dog racing station, we’ve hit SOB with a very challenging brief to meet. Unlike your music radio station our audience is not united by a certain era or music style, and we don’t fit your standard news or sports talk format station either. The only thing our TA has in common is their love for #1 sport in Australia –racing, a very intense sport that doesn’t allow you to have a set hourly clock, instead provides you with programming that is full of frequent surprises.

Based on that fact (and maybe a few more things) SOB delivered a very diverse package that allows us to tie in all program elements together and be prepared for any surprises of the live sports broadcast.
