What You Need To Know About DJ Intro Jingles

DJ Jingle Intros Should Be As Perfect As The Whole Session

A mix session is never complete without the DJ intro.  DJ mix show openers and intro jingles have always been used from the good ole days of mixtapes, vinyl records and the compact discs. They say that an intro speak so much about the whole session. Whether you are a Paul Van Dyk or a hobbyist, you know you want the intro to be just as wicked as the entire playlist.

Style. DJ intro style depends on what type of music you play. If you are more on trance, house and club music, it’s good to start with a more subtle style like a drone to set the mood of the party crowd. Urban mixes are great to be introed with smashing and impacting approach.

Ways. There are also different ways to intro your mix session. You can use your own voice, being the DJ yourself which gives your session a more personal touch. Another way is to mash up drops from movies and put in FX that will make your intro sound like a movie trailer.

Artist or celebrity drops are great to use as well. Getting artists to introduce you and your mix show gives it a much more edge.

Service. There are also services on the internet that offer custom and pre-produced DJ intro jingle drops. Aside from being affordable, you get a lot of choices, plus you can also mix and match different pre-produced elements to come up with a new mix.

Here are samples of DJ Intros.

102.7 Easy Rock Website On-Going

102.7 Easy Rock Cebu has an on-going website construction

I can’t help but compare WROCK 96.3 and 102.7 Easy Rock Cebu. They both sport similar format, but there are times when WRock goes upbeat, especially in the morning. I still like the variety of WRock than Easy. Easy is more youthful. Nothing still beats the original.

RadyoBisdak.com – PURE Cebuano Online Radio Programming

Radyo Bisdak is a pure Cebuano Online Radio Station

www.RadyoBisdak.com is another Eureka for me, I just found out about it this month. Kudos to Mr Rolly Wagas for putting up this station.

Everything about this station is in Bisaya language (Cebuano). In fact the station logo – Radyo Bisdak is a contraction of the words “bisaya” and “dako” (big). “Bisdak” is a Cebuano slang used to refer to someone who is a native of Visayas or Mindanao or someone who speaks Cebuano.

From its website, the station clearly states it plays all Cebuano novelty songs. It sports programs like “Labyog Labyog”, “Kusina sa RB”, “Gugmang Gia***” (I bleeped that for its profanity) and “Tubaan”. You will hear songs from Max Subran and Yoyo Villame.

The copy and text of the site are in “nosebleedingly” Cebuano. And I learned from this site that the Cebuano translation of cyberspace is “dagitwanang”. Now I know!

I also learned that the operator of this site Rolly Wagas is a Cebuano novelty artist, his album is available in Ayala Cebu, which I am planning to buy.

Check out www.RadyoBisdak.com! It truly is an interesting yet noteworthy station. Especially that most of the Pinoy operated stations air foreign songs. This one is something I really commend and definitely will become my favorite bookmark.

BEHRINGER Philippines Runs for Benefit

BEHRINGER, the world’s leading provider of audio equipment, joins a benefit marathon organized by Pilipino Star Ngayon to aid school rebuilding damaged by 2009 typhoons. 20 plus staff of Behringer Manila Office sprinted 3K, 4K, and 10K.

This is a breath of fresh air for us Filipinos, who are now sick of hearing unsettled disputes from the recent elections. The race for government seats is over, now we must race for another marathon here, a run to unite the country, heal the wounds, and rebuild the nation.

How Do I Get Artist Drops – IDs for Radio Imaging

Tips On Where To Get Artist Drops

Artist drops are spoken IDs, basically artists introducing themselves. Artist IDs are perfect to use when producing concert spots, power intros and radio station IDs. It adds more weight to your production when listeners actually identify the artist and their voice.

There are a lot of ways you can get artist drops.

1. Swap – you can contact different radio stations especially those in major markets where there are more frequently visited stations. If you are lucky, they might want to allow you a barter.

2. Promotional CDs – you might not notice but those sampler CDs sleeping in your studio shelves might contain gems. Some recording labels include audio bits from the artists.

3. Artist Interviews – practical and common sense. If an artist or  band visits your station, make sure to keep that voice recorder handy. Or before the artist leaves, have him record a quick ID.

4. Subscribe to Online Libraries – online libraries are perfect since you can download the elements right away. Check out the best places to find artist drops here http://bit.ly/ArtistDrops

NU 107 Radio Sweepers

My love for radio goes beyond the music and the DJs. The sounds in between these are ear candies to me. Whatever format it is, Top 40, Jazz, AC or Rock, these elements I fondly call radio IDs are works of art.

Imaging Rock Radio has always been interesting. Usually it involves loud and noisy production, deep and thundering voiceover and funny / witty copy most of the time.

NU 107 – The Home of New Rock the most enduring rock format in the country is known for their classic and outrageously catchy liners. Some of these, I have posted here. Thanks for Agent Mikey Bond of NU Cebu for the audio files.
